Laulima Food Patch is a restaurant located in Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii. One of Laulima’s highest values is working with, and supporting local farmers and ranchers to source local, island grown fruits, vegetables and meat. When the owner of Laulima Food Patch contacted me to create new merchandise for their restaurant I knew I wanted the focus and direction to be on the quality ingredients that goes into each and every one of their meals and their incredible partnership with the local farmers.

I designed and illustrated a variety of fruits and vegetables by hand that are common to find here in Hawaii and that Laulima uses frequently. I then turned the illustrations into a playful and bold pattern to be utilized throughout the different merchandise for Laulima.

I kept it fun, bold and colorful while maintaining a sleek and clean feel. I wanted the overall tone to be expressive and fresh while staying true to Laulima’s original brand values and mission.
